Osteogenesis imperfecta in dentistry

In light of this review of the literature, the objectives of this thesis are first set osteogenesis imperfecta. A description of the diagnostic criteria allow us to clearly classify the disease. Then we try to understand the genetic process to analyze the mechanisms responsible for the disease. Thereafter, we will detail the different clinical manifestations associated with osteogenesis imperfecta. Finally, we will review the management illustrated by case reports and therapeutic approach adapted.

The nigerian federalism and the legality in resource control: an implication for sustainable development

The human society from air to land and sea is stuffed with large catch of resources which men, with the utility of state’s power do exploit. But, the exploitation of resources is not at the volition of any single individual rather, that of the state. From the Nigerian experience, the major factor which has determined the way in which resources are controlled is the issue of legality. This descriptive research seeks to build nexus between Nigerian federalism and the legality of resource control. The research adopts the natural law theory in its discourse.

Comparative perception of the smile aesthetics systematic review

Aim/Objective: This study aimed to assess the real influence of four criteria on smile attractiveness: diastema, smile line, gingival display and midline. Material and Method: A search on MEDLINE (PubMed), chochrane, embase and EBD review was conducted using 7 key words via Boolean equations. Papers published between 2005 and 2016 and meeting the eligibility criteria were identified after reading their titles and abstracts. During the reading of the full text, a critical analysis of the methodology followed was conducted on the basis of the reading grid and the literature analysis.

Lack of motivation during training in dentistry at the faculty of casablanca: a qualitative study

Absenteeism observed during lectures is increasing over the years of study and the low clinical performances are evidence of a decrease in students’ motivation. Few studies have looked into the factors of dental students’ lack of motivation during their training. The aim of our study was to determine the reasons for the decline in motivation during the course of studies in dentistry at the University of Casablanca. A qualitative study was carried out among the students of the Faculty of Dentistry in the year 2012.

Students recruitment procedures in the school of dental medicine of casablanca

Introduction: the access in first year of the studies of dental medicine is opened on competition to the candidates holders of the high school degree (HSD) obtained in one of the series or the sectors -or the equivalent recognized diploma-: experimental sciences, economical sciences and mathematical sciences. The competition takes place in two phases including a preselection of the candidates and the written tests.

National survey of the use of new technologies in the dental office (part 2)

Objective: This national survey aims at providing data on the use of new technologies in the dental offices of Morocco. Materials and method: In order to meet the aforementioned objectives, a cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted in Marrakech during the second edition of the National Dental Conference "Moroccan Dental Meeting" held on 26-27-28 November 2017.The type of sampling adopted is of a non-probabilistic or empirical type.

Luting and bonding agent used in fixed prosthesis: Criteria inherent to dentists

Introduction: The aim of this study is to determine the criteria for the choice of a luting or bonding agentsby dentists for the fixation of dental prostheses. Materials and Methods: A descriptive epidemiological survey was conducted among 320 private dentists in Casablanca. Results: 303 dentists participated in this study, a participation rate of 94.7% with a gender ratio of 0.91. Ionomer Glass Cement (CVI) is the most widely used cement for dentists with a percentage of 82.2%. Self-adhesive resins are the most used adhesives with a percentage of 63,2%.

Proficiency testing and pre-diagnostic characterization of extracted dna for external quality assurance

Background: Current external quality assurance (EQA) programs for DNA extraction require participating laboratories to perform DNA extraction on an EQA provided fresh blood sample or specific tissue type. However, this strategy is too restrictive for laboratories who regularly perform DNA extraction on other tissue types or for biobanks who have vast stores of archived specimens that are unrelated to the EQA material.
