The study is entitled: "Flooding in Bamako, risks of social insecurity". Flooding has become a major concern in Bamako. The aim of this research is to analyze the risks of social insecurity linked to flooding in Bamako. The methodological approach consisted of documentary research, questionnaire design and interview guides. Simple random sampling was used, involving 150 people. SPSS, Excel and World software were used for data analysis and entry. The results indicate that the causes are mainly linked to incivism (41.37%), servicing problems (29.31%), lack of sewer maintenance and the effects of global warming (10.34%), while galloping urbanization accounted for 8.62% of opinions. The consequences include loss of life, material and financial damage, and temporary blockage of access roads. To alleviate this problem, we propose the strict application of current legislation and the adoption of an urban planning master plan that takes into account the evolution of flood-prone areas in the Bamako district, and the involvement of the population in decision-making to facilitate its approval.
