Cultivation of “vidarikand” (pueraria tuberosa dc): a drug of potential importance

The demand for natural products derived from medicinal plant is increasing in national and international market. The sudden increases in demand of the pharmaceutical industries of Indian system of medicine has led to deforestation because of which some plant species have been endangered such as Kutki, Jatamansi, Ativisha, Vatshanabh etc. Vidarikand (Pueraria tuberosa DC) is one of them. “Vidarikand” is a perennial herb is in high demand.

Mouth dissolving tablets: An overview of formulation technology

Mouth dissolving tablets are well established dosage forms available in the market. The numerous advantages that they offer to the patients in terms of compliance as well as to the manufacturers in terms of huge revenues by line extension of products are well known. In spite of such popularity, there seems to be lack of a standardized system to characterize these dosage forms. Enormous work has been done in this field, wherein some of the researchers have developed their own methods of evaluation.

Role of integrated duck cum fish farming and its economic efficiency: A study in purulia district, West Bengal

The economic benefit of integrated fish farming cannot be over-emphasized since the integration is varied and diversified in nature. It is one of the most viable, reliable and profitable of any farming enterprise. It contributes immensely to the economic empowerment of many families especially in the rural communities. The role of maternal status and breast feeding practice on infants in South West region of Bangladesh

Maternal status and breastfeeding practices have a major impact on infant health, growth and development. The improvement of mother’s socio-economic and socio-demographic characteristic is necessary for proper nursing of infants to ensure normal development of their child. This study aims to determine the effect of mother status and their breast feeding practices on development of their infant aged from zero to twenty four months in south-west region of Bangladesh. It was a comparative cross-sectional study.

Identification and molecular characterization of drought tolerance gene and screening of drought tolerant rice varieties

Rice is major staple food crop of world including India. Today with climate changes, all crops including rice expose to extreme water deficit condition, which adversely affects crop growth and yield. Drought is one of the most damaging abiotic stresses. Different plants response differently to drought stress. These responses include changes in gene expression. Abiotic stresses such as drought induced diverse physiological and molecular responses in plants.

Iot based smart security and monitoring devices for Agriculture

A smart way of automating farming process can be called as Smart Agriculture. By implying an automated system it possible to eliminate threats to the crops by reducing the human intervention. The major emphasize will be on providing favorable atmosphere for plants. These agricultural automated systems will help in managing and maintain safe environment especially the agricultural areas. Environment real time monitoring is an important factor in smart farming.

Green synthesis of copper nanoparticles using aloe vera and its characterization

This study presents the green synthesis of copper nanoparticles using leaf extract of Aloe vera (Aloe Barbadensis Miller) as reducing and sabilizing agents. The main objective of this work is to develop economically and environmentally friendly method for the synthesis of copper nanoparticles. The precursor used was the aquesous solution of CuSO4.5H2O.

Chemical analysis and suitable amelioration of mulberry (morus alba l.) garden soils for enhanced leaf and cocoon production

The fertility of soil in general plays the key role in the development of any crop plants and mulberry is no exception for it. The growth and leaf nutrient status of mulberry plant varies in different geographic locations and geo-climatic conditions as the soil conditions changes. Demand for essential nutrient supply to the soils ever growing due to intensive cropping systems. Therefore, additional supplementation of required organic and inorganic nutrients to retain the desired levels of soil nutrient status in mulberry is imperative for sustainable leaf production.

Allergic reaction caused by titanium containing dental implants

Titanium is known to be a non-allergic material. However many studies show cases of metal allergy caused by titanium containing materials. Two-hundred random volunteers were taken as a study sample between the age group of 18-60 years and described after patch test was done. Observation showed allergic symptoms in about 4% of the subject population. Discussion: Applications such as plastic surgery, dental implants, white pigments etc. Titanium is used in the form of titanium dioxide which leads to rapid expansion of titanium containing products.
