On other side, vitamin B12 has a great protective role on haematological, neurological and cardiovascular system. Aims: To estimate serum vitamin B12 levels among the patients attending hospital with metabolic syndrome and find out the relation of serum vitamin B12 with the various biochemical parameters of metabolic syndrome patients.

(Cd34) Properties In Sudanese Patients With Acute Leukemia By Flowcytometry

Background: CD34 a 110- to 115-Kda transmembrane sialoglyco pro- V twin, is expressed by early hematopoietic (myeloid and lymphoid) progenitor cells, endothelial cells, murine embryonic fibroblasts, and bone marrow (BM) stromal cells and their precursors. CD34 expression has great importance in diagnosis, classification and management of acute leukemia. Aim of the study: To evaluate the expression of CD34 (percentage and meanfluorescence intensity) in Sudanese patient with acuteleukemia.

Anthelmintic Activity Of Citrus Sinensis (L) Osbeck Fruit Juice Against Heligmosomoides Bakeri

The anthelmintic activity of Citrus sinensis fruit juice on eggs, first stage larvae (L1) and adults of Heligmosomoides bakeri was examined by in vitro and in vivo tests. Freshly harvested C. sinensis fruit was washed and sliced into two halves each, which were squeezed gently into a clean container to obtain the juice after filteration through a Whatsman paper. The fruit juice was prepared to obtain seven increasing concentrations. Distilled water and albendazole were used as negative and positive control groups, respectively.

Crossbreeding, Description And Quality Attributes Of Three Indigenous Chickens

Potchefstroom Koekoek and Venda chicken breeds. These three chickens are the most available indigenous chicken breeds in South Africa. However, many studies need to be done on these three different indigenous chickens. Thus, crossbreeding, description and quality attributes are essential to be identified on these chickens. Crossbreeding is beneficial for two primary reasons. First, a well-designedcrossbreeding system allows the combination of desirable traits of the breeds involved in the cross while masking some of the disadvantages of the breeds.

“Cold agglutinins – a clue to diagnosis?”

Cold agglutinin disease (CAD) is a subgroup of autoimmune hemolytic anemia (AIHA). This is usually associated with cold reactive autoantibodies. Acute form of CAD is attributed to infectious or autoimmune disease and chronic form to lymphoproliferative disease. In this paper, we report a case of secondary CAD due to Mycoplasma pneumonia in a 34 year old female patient. Cold antibody test and direct coombs’ test were positive. The patient was treated accordingly and get relieved from the symptoms.
