Fracture resistance of primary molars restored with the bonded amalgam technique using various luting agents” - an invitro study

Objective: To compare the fracture resistance of primary molars restored with the bonded amalgam technique using various luting agents viz, Resinomer, Rely X U-100 and GC Fuji PLUS as the bonding agents. Materials: Sixty sound primary molars were selected and randomly assigned to one of four test groups of 15 teeth each, i.e. Group I, Group II, Group III, and Group IV. All four groups were prepared to a standard MOD cavity form and restored with amalgam. In Group I no luting agent was used, in Group II Resinomer, in Group III Rely X U100 and in Group IV GC Fuji PLUS was used respectively.

Introduction: Bleeding from esophageal varices (varicose veins) is one of the leading causes of death in patients with portal hypertension (PH). The main method of prevention of bleeding is endoscopic procedures. Background: To assess the effectiveness of endoscopic ligation (EL) in the prevention of bleeding varicose veins (VVs) of the esophagus and stomach in patients with PH. Material and Methods: We analyzed the results of treatment of 183 patients with PH who had had previously an episode of bleeding from VVs of esophagus or stomach.

The study was guided by the developmental psychology theory that aided in understanding of communication disorders among children. Stratified and lottery technique of random sampling was used to select a sample of participating schools and respondents.

Though the number is on the increase throughout the world each day, an estimated 100 million females worlwide so far are known to have been subjected to genital mutilation. Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), which is also known as Female Circumcision (FC) is a life threatening practice that results in many long lasting health complications in women and children’s lives especially in underdeveloped regions where its practice is carried out under unhygenic conditions by people who lack medical knowledge even without using any anesthesia and equipment.

Helminth Infection Pattern Of Ptychadena Mascareniensis From Daloa City (Ivory Coast) With Respect To Frog’ Age And Sex

Population of Ptychadena mascareniensis from Daloa city wetlands (Ivory Coast) were investigated for understand helminth infection pattern regarding to hosts’ age and sex. A total of 115 specimens of this species were examined. From this population, 67 specimens were infected. We encountered 10 acanthocephalan, 157 nematoda and 231 trematoda. These helminth parasites were identified as Centrorhynchus sp. (acanthocephala), Cosmocercoides variabilis (nematoda) and Haplometroides eburnense (trematoda). The overall prevalence rates were high except for infections with acanthocephala.
