Tissue Engineering—An Emerging Approach In Periodontics

Tissue engineering is a multidisciplinary field with the potential to replace tissues lost as a result of trauma, cancer surgery, or organ dysfunction. Periodontal disease leads to loss of periodontal supporting structures, like cementum, the periodontal ligament and the alveolar bone. Periodontal treatments like scaling, root planing and gingival curettage are effective in repairing disease related defects and halting further progress of disease.

Metabolomic Analysis Of Saliva In The Course Of Experiment With Topical Application Of Glucose And Fluorine Gel Application

Changes in the composition of saliva can be related to different physiological processes and various oral diseases. Examination of saliva as a diagnostic environment for various biomarkers is a modern method that has been used in dental medicine since last century. Characteristics of dentin surfaces at in vitro excavation with different methods for minimal intervention by atomic force microscopy (afm) and scanning electron microscopy (sem)

The micro-invasive method applied to dentine, requires selective controlled excavation. New and various alternative methods for selective excavation and high-tech equipment for excavation control are being created. Modern science is concerned with researching these methods in regards to the control during excavation as well as the choice of method for the excavation itself. The aim of this study was characterization of dentinal surfaces during in vitro excavation with different methods for minimal intervention by atomic force microscopy (AFM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM).
